How does the Conte de Faits gift card work?+
You choose a set amount (Découverte €39, Souvenir €49, Émotion €69, Prestige €89) or any custom amount from €20 to €1,000, fill in the recipient's details and complete payment. The recipient instantly receives an email with their unique code and a QR code. They can then create their own personalised book using this code at checkout, and the amount is deducted from their order.
How long is the card valid for?+
The gift card is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. The expiry date is shown on the card, in the email received, and is also visible on the balance check page.
Can the recipient choose any book format?+
Yes, every format is available with a gift card: Élégant, Noble, Prestige and Digital. The recipient is free to choose their format and fully customise their book. The card amount is deducted from their order total.
What if the book costs more than the card amount?+
No worries at all, the recipient simply tops up the difference by card at checkout. The card balance is used first, and the remainder is charged as usual through secure Stripe payment.
What if the book costs less than the card amount?+
The remaining balance stays on the card, and the recipient can use it on a future order within 12 months. Nothing is lost, and the balance can be checked at any time via the verification page.
Can I buy several cards?+
Of course, you can buy as many gift cards as you like, for different recipients, each with their own amount and personal message. Every card generates a unique code in the format CDF-XXXX-XXXX.
Can I schedule the card to be sent on a specific date?+
Yes, during checkout select "Schedule delivery on a date" and choose the day and time you'd like. The recipient will receive the email automatically on the scheduled date, perfect for planning ahead for a birthday or Christmas.
Can I buy a card for myself?+
Yes, select "For me (to print)" during checkout. You'll receive the card at your own email address, with a printable PDF that you can give in person, in an envelope or wrapped as a gift.
Is the gift card refundable?+
In line with French legislation on prepaid cards, gift cards are neither refundable nor exchangeable for cash. They can only be used to purchase a Conte de Faits book.
How can I check my remaining card balance?+
Head to our Check balance page, enter your code (in the format CDF-XXXX-XXXX) or scan the QR code received by email. You'll instantly see the balance, the original amount, the status and the expiry date.
